“How precious and weighty also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! “If I could count them, they would be more in number than the sand. When I awoke, [could I count to the end] I would still be with You.”
Psalm 139:17-18

Can you imagine it, the Lord of all creation, thinking about you? His thoughts are so precious. He gives much thought about you and I. If we tried to fathom His thoughts, we cannot. How innumerable are His thoughts!

The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; And as I have purposed, so shall it stand: Isaiah 14:24

Isaiah 55:8-11 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and returns not there, but waters the earth, and makes it bring forth the bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater, So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: It shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

Sometimes our own thoughts and what others think about us can redirect our focus, and make us think that we are of little or no value. If we see ourselves insignificant, we think there is no one who sees the value of our life. But God does!

God sees your value. He thinks you are pretty special, and thinks about you so much! He thinks about the plans He has for your life. He thinks about the purpose you were created for. He thinks about the pleasure your life brings to Him. He knows the thoughts of others can discourage you, but He says His thoughts are higher!

Think about that. In all the universe, in all of creation, you are thought about by the Creator of all things. He has you on His mind, thinking about your life. Oh the value He puts on you! He speaks, and His words have to accomplish what He intended!

Do not let what you think, or what others think about you become the focus. If the Lord has good thoughts about us, we need to let our thoughts be that reflection! Have you ever poured your heart into something, did the best you could possibly do, was very pleased with the outcome, only to hear someone criticize it? You know the hurt you felt. Imagine how the heart of our Heavenly Father breaks when we let the thoughts and words of others affect us and tear us down. The amazing thing is, we are so quick to believe what others say about us, or to believe what we think they think about us, but we have a hard time believing God’s thoughts about us. We are so quick to believe and hold on to the negative, and He wants us to trust what He knows, because He knows us better than we know ourselves. After all, He formed us, created us, and it was His best idea.

So the next time you become discouraged, and begin to let thoughts storm your mind, take a minute to think what God might be thinking about you. You are always on His mind, flooding His thoughts! Let the thoughts of God define who you are, and what you will become. He has already thought about your life, from beginning to end, and has great expectations for you!
