Broken Yet Valuable

How many times do we accidentally break something of value? The first thing we do is see if it can be glued back together. Sometimes it can be fixed right away, other times we set it aside to be fixed later, and maybe it is all too soon forgotten.

Our Heavenly Father wants us to run to Him and ask Him to fix the broken pieces of our lives. We cannot fix ourselves. Other people cannot fix us. They are not the Master Creator. Only He can fix our brokenness, whatever state it is. Are we lost, driven away, broken, sick? He knows, and He has the very thing to mend us.

I will seek that which was lost and bring back that which has strayed, and I will bandage the hurt and the crippled and will strengthen the weak and the sick… Ezekiel 34:16a (AMP)

Jesus said, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10 AMP)

Our lives are of great value to God. He created us for His purpose, and when we are broken, we cannot do what He has created us to do. We need to come to Him, let Him repair us, so that we are consecrated and profitable to Him.

2 Timothy 2:20-21 (AMP) says, “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also [utensils] of wood and earthenware, and some for honorable and noble [use] and some for menial and ignoble [use]. So whoever cleanses himself […] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work.”

The only way we can cleanse ourselves is to realize we need a Savior, and come to Him. It is then through His forgiveness, mercy, and grace that we become “a vessel set apart.” It is then that you are brought into the treasury of the Lord.

But all the silver and gold and vessels of bronze and iron are consecrated to the Lord; they shall come into the treasury of the Lord. Joshua 6:19 (AMP)

Will you let God find you, right where you are? Will you let Him bring you back to Himself, and bandage up your wounds, and heal your sickness? You are so precious to Him. He loves you with unconditional love.

I heard a minister speak about when the Japanese mend broken objects, they aggrandize (to enlarge or extend) the damage by filling the cracks with gold. They believe that when something has suffered damage and has a history, it becomes more beautiful. Your Heavenly Father thinks you are much too valuable to cast out. You have a history, and a future, so He fills your brokenness with gold, and brings you into His treasury!
