I have been young and now am old; yet have I not seen the [uncompromisingly] righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Psalm 37:25 ( AMP)

As the season of Thanksgiving approaches, I can’t help but marvel at the goodness of God. Throughout my life I have seen bountiful miracles of God’s provision. Countless, oh, the countless times He would nudge the heart of a willing person, and have them bring an abundance of groceries to our home.

Growing up, my mother never let us know how bad our situation was. I know many times she would not eat dinner with us, so that we would have enough. I remember her praying through the night for God to send an angel to bring food for her children. And an angel always came!

I am thankful to have witnessed these miracles. They are wonderful reminders of the goodness of God. And He still works today!

Recently, I found myself in the same situation as my mother. Not wanting my children to know how bad the circumstances really are, trying to stretch a dollar farther, and make it last until the next payday. I also have prayed through the night for God to send an angel to help us. And an angel came!

Our angel drives a little, white S10 pickup. And the day he came, that little truck was loaded with groceries. Not a few bags. I mean, the entire bed of the truck was loaded with boxes and bags. The front seat and floorboard were packed. When he rang the doorbell, holding a bowl of homemade sloppy joes and buns, I thought, “How nice!” Then he said to send the kids out to help.

When we were done unloading the truck, I asked him who told him. He said, “God had me awake last night and told me to bring your family groceries.” As tears welled up in my eyes, I thanked him, again and again.

I went into the house, and we started to unpack the bags and boxes, I was overwhelmed! See our angel brought us special things, that there was no way for him to know, they would mean so much to us. With tears running down my face, I asked my kids, “Do you know how BIG our God is?” He cares about the little details of our lives, and had our angel put those special items in, just to say, “I know, I care, I love you!”

We had to clean out our cupboards to make room for all the food. We still ran out of space. We decided to share our blessing with another person in need. We packed up two boxes! That person also shared the blessing with another friend.

Now, this week, again our angel showed up. He wanted to make sure we didn’t worry about our Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, he brought it all!

I have been young and now am older, and God is still faithful! I hope my children will remember these miracles, and also see the faithfulness of God when they are older too!
